I made the same assumption, dogfighting read as if it was PVP.
2  MMORPG's / MMO Public / Re: WildStar on: June 10, 2014, 08:38:33 PM
After saying I wouldn't play Wildstar, I have been.

Playing an Exile Engineer at the moment, on the Oceanic realm. Dabbling in Warrior on the side.

My only complaint so far is that when tanking you really do next to no damage, making it almost essential to carry a second set of gear around for solo play / questing.

At least you get two specs to play with so that's eased the pain somewhat, but the difference between damage outputs is like night and day.

Everything else is pretty good, though a little daunting. They throw a lot of content at you fairly early on, and manage to keep it coming. Housing was/is a massive time sink. Challenges are also a nice touch.

IIRC you can us HDMI and just need to run an adapter at the end that plugs into the display.

I made it a rule to ignore everything from news.com.au.

Just read this myself.

It's a little bit saddening, plenty of good memories.

Don't get me wrong, I want this to be as big a success as possible. Space combat was a HUGE part of my gaming when I was younger and I've long wished for it to be revisited.

I'm just concerned they'll lose focus.

With every stretch goal they reached I became more skeptical.

I still hold out hope, but it's quickly coming far too ambitious.

Lines ten miles long full of fat dudes buying greasy food and not one beer tent. Even with a free ticket I felt ripped off, needed more synth metal.

Haha, never change Cuddlz.

16th of this month!?

But that's the weekend of PAX, they can't start phase 4 then!

Meh ill show up when you guys play a game worth playing, instead of FF crappy.. Cheesy

He's either trolling or, and I'm leaning towards this, has been anally compromised by some other organism (possibly alien) who has now taken complete control of the husk we formally knew as Paytun.

Boz loves FF, and knowing him, he would particularly enjoy FFXIV.

Something is amiss...
11  General Category / General Public / Re: Cuddlz is this you? on: April 26, 2013, 03:10:07 PM
Hahah oh shit!

Having lived in Croydon made this even funnier.

The amount of people I work with who cut the strap that holds each coil IN a coil thinking it's instead hodling it onto the skid amazes me.

The I usually end up being the one fixing it.

That shit is hilarious though.
13  MMORPG's / MMO Public / Re: Pvp withdrawals. on: March 04, 2013, 12:36:30 PM

Will it have all the cross over/gender (in)breeding from the last 65 million Pokemon games? Also will in still be game boy or is it going console?

DS systems. Gameboy was discontinued probably 10 years ago now.
14  MMORPG's / MMO Public / Re: Pvp withdrawals. on: March 03, 2013, 08:43:24 PM
So when am i getting 3D pokemon, and should i care?

October. Yes.

The complaint you have about PvP being faceless is a valid one, I understand that you want to know your opponent. However if that's your biggest turn off from the PvP and you're real desire is only to be KNOWN then I think you're an idiot. You make it sound like the only reason you PvP is for an ego polish.

Lololol, aren't you the one QQ'ing that people need to want a carrot on a stick to pvp, instead of pvping for victory?

Don't be retarded, pvping for personal renown is one of the most valid reasons to pvp. A carrot on a stick or territory that isn't nonsensical cat and mouse is just a huge benefit.

Yes, I did indeed suggest that the masses want carrot on a stick pvp and I do find it a little disheartening.  However a lot of people pvp or compete in their chose sport/profession for the love of it. They enjoy strategy and competition.

I'm sure beating on your chest is a valid reason too, I still think those people are idiots.
15  MMORPG's / MMO Public / Re: Pvp withdrawals. on: March 03, 2013, 01:50:44 PM

I hardly think the MMO genre is dead, but if you're looking for a solid PvP experience, or a game based AROUND the PvP then you're probably spot on.

I still think GW2 is a fantastic game. But I'm in the minority as someone who enjoys PvE. It has, hands down, the most solid foundation for it's RvR then any game that has come out in years. If they can iron out culling and this RvR patch brings something with substance then hopefully enough of you will go back and take a look so I can have people to play it with again Tongue

blah, blah, blah...

You misunderstood my statement. What I said in an earlier post is that the PvP you/we want is not something that developers are interested in creating. When I then said, in the post you quoted, that "if you're looking for a solid PvP experience, or a game based AROUND the PvP..." I was again referring to the PvP that you/we are looking for.

As for the PvE in GW2 being "shit" and "fucking awful" you're entitled to that opinion. On this forum you're most likely in the vast majority.

As a lifelong carebear I can tell you that the GW2 PvE is some of the most enjoyable I've played in a long time. none of the content is faceroll and regardless of gearing you need to perform in every encounter or you become a liability for the group. I hear a lot of people complain about it being clunky, but I always thought it was extremely fluid combat wise.

Perhaps some classes feel more clunky then others, but warrior was  thoroughly enjoyable. Thief also.

As for PvP  being a mess, well, I can't argue there aren't things that need addressing but they're working on it.

The complaint you have about PvP being faceless is a valid one, I understand that you want to know your opponent. However if that's your biggest turn off from the PvP and you're real desire is only to be KNOWN then I think you're an idiot. You make it sound like the only reason you PvP is for an ego polish.

TESO is completely undecided but you've suggested merely having names on players makes or breaks the PvP for you. There are so many ways for an RvR system to go wrong or just be broken that names on players should be the least of your concerns.

I love grinding, I've never not enjoyed a korean MMO, but if Aion taught us anything it's that westerners want to be at the level cap immediately, and playing end game forever. Archage looks interesting but if the only reason to PvP is to beat someone else then you KNOW no one will be doing it. Round Eyes dislike non consensual PvP. It's just the way things are.
